Dallas Shopping Fun
If you like to shop, and you're anywhere near the Dallas-Fort Worth area, you are in for a great treat. The DFW metroplex offers dozens of malls and shopping areas to choose from, each completely different from the others. Out of all those choices, a few special places stand out that we must share with you.
If you're in Dallas, you absolutely must hit the Galleria. One of the nicest malls in the country, it is by far DFW's flagship. The Galleria attracts the rich and famous, including several celebrity names you're sure to know. If fancy isn't your thing, but you still love a unique shopping experience, shop at Town East Mall and Stonebriar Centre, two of Dallas' top-notch shopping destinations. Both have their own charm and reasons why you'll love the experience.
Nearby, in Fort Worth, are more retail destinations that are "must sees" for visitors and shoppers alike. Southlake Town Square is not a traditional enclosed- mall, but fantastic none-the-less. It is reminiscent of the town centers of long ago. Two more traditional malls in Fort Worth are Grapevine Mills and The Parks at Arlington. They each have their own different flares. Grapevine Mills seems to have every type of merchandise in the world available somewhere within its many stores, while The Parks is just plain big.
There are tons of things to see and do in the DFW area, but if you're a shopping fan, this may be Mecca.
The Pearl of the South
If you're in Dallas and need something to do, flip a coin. Make sure that coin has at least six sides, because the possibilities are never-ending in the 'Big D'. It's not a choice between one or two things to do or see, it's a choice of hundreds. Pick your mood, and head out to find it.
Regardless of your passion as a resident or tourist, the city can meet your needs. Looking for a fine dining experience? Dallas has some of the most famous restaurants in the world at one end of the spectrum, to a host of local one-of-a-kind establishments that boast the best in barbeque and Tex-Mex. You won't be left wanting more.
If you like architecture, just look up and around. The Dallas area has been through a reformation recently, resulting in some of the best modern architecture in the United States, and perhaps even the world. For fans of the cultural arts, Dallas has great museums and art centers, as well as a renowned symphony orchestra and opera house. If you enjoy outdoor activities, but need to stay close to town, head out almost anywhere in the city. There's a huge array of destinations for any fan of fitness.
Don't whine about something to do, go do it. Enjoy all that Dallas has to offer. Better yet, pick something you've never seen or done before and go experience that. It may turn out to be the most entertaining thing you've ever done.
