Golf - Frisco, Texas
Golfers on getaway love absolutely nothing more than to have a assortment of courses available to them within arm's reach. Playing various courses in a different part of the country offers golfers both bragging rights and discussion when it comes to comparing courses with their friends and acquaintances. Frisco, Texas, just outside of Dallas, is home to such a assortment of courses, many quite notable. A stay in the region affords the avid duffer access to all of these. Some of the more remarkable courses are detailed here.
The Westin Stonebriar is an 18-hole championship course designed by one of the finest golfers in the country. The environment is native grasses backed by rolling hills. The bunkers are very challenging, and water hazards tough. The course will challenge golfers at all ranges of play, but is not for the faint -of-heart.
Plantation Golf Club is more amenable to all ranges of golfers, and is a favored landing spot for residents. It too has challenging play, but not really the same degree of intensity as Stonebriar, making for a lot more stress-free and pleasant golfing experience. The lines of trees make a great backdrop, trimmed by Bermuda grass, and though playable, the greens are as challenging as a golfer will find on any course. It is a "must-play" for every golfer located in the region.
Finally, the Trails of Frisco Golf Club provides fantastic play for individuals who can get on the course. The Frisco Golf Club is semi-private, so not all people can play there, but individuals that get the chance will find a 7000 yard long, par 71 course. Intermingled with wetlands, the course is a challenge from green to green, but also provides a quiet retreat from the city's hustle and bustle, even although it is located in the Metroplex.
