Texas Beach Hot Spots
Not to be ignored when thinking about a vacation to Texas is its many miles of shoreline along the Gulf of Mexico. Quite a few folks don't think about Texas as a beach hot-spot, but there are a lot of natural beaches along its eastern side welcoming residents and vacationers alike. Even if you don't spend a whole week here, plan on investing several days kicking back and checking out the coast line. There are quite a few nice surprises hidden along the Texas coasts.
Corpus Christi is one of the more well-liked locations that can come to mind when pondering Gulf coast beaches. The area has mile after mile of white-sand beach, and the water is dotted with sailboats. The marina in the city is home to quite a variety of sailboats as well, and many can be rented for a day or part of a day to travel out on the gulf waters and appreciate the view or get some fishing in.
Just off the coast of Corpus Christi is Padre Island. This is a national seashore that is well preserved and secluded. Individuals who get to visit the island discover it difficult to describe, and quite a few people cannot think of any other spot anywhere in the world to compare it to. If you visit Corpus Christi, make it a point to get out and see Padre Island.
Galveston is also a great vacation spot for beach-goers. The island is much more commercialized than other pieces of the Texas shoreline, but that also means there's more diversity and variety. The area delivers not only fantastic beaches, but a full culinary cross-section of wonderful restaurants for meals, plus excursions and tours of other area sights, both on land and water. Galveston delivers more than just a beach for families that want to make a vacation stay in a single place, it delivers an adventure.
