Frisco, Texas, just outside of Dallas, is home to such a assortment of courses, many quite impressive. A stay in the area affords the avid duffer access to all of these. Some of the more remarkable courses are listed here.
The Westin Stonebriar is an 18-hole championship course designed by one of the finest golfers in the country. The setting is native grasses backed by rolling hills. The bunkers are very challenging, and water hazards tough. The course will challenge golfers at all ranges of play, but is not for the faint -of-heart.
Plantation Golf Club is more amenable to all ranges of golfers, and is a favorite playing spot for locals. It too has challenging play, but not really the same level of intensity as Stonebriar, making for a lot more stress-free and pleasurable golfing encounter. The rows of trees make a wonderful location, trimmed by Bermuda grass, and although playable, the greens are as challenging as a golfer will find on any course. It is a "must-play" for every golfer visiting in the area.
Finally, the Trails of Frisco Golf Club provides brilliant play for those who can get on the course. The Frisco Golf Club is semi-private, so not everyone can play there, but those that get the chance will discover a 7000 yard long, par 71 course. Intermingled with wetlands, the course is a challenge from green to green, but also supplies a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and commotion, even though it is located in the Metroplex.
