Nicaraguan Tourism
As a vacation spot, Nicaragua continues to be a rather unknown to vacationers, and this has developed a perfect opportunity for ecologists and nature fans to travel around the country easily devoid of the impact of crowds of travelers. The golden-white beaches of the Caribbean Ocean in the East and the gold sand beaches of the Pacific Ocean in the West, the unspoiled forests and tropical jungles that remain untouched, and the rugged beauty of volcanic mountains and crater lakes make this country a virtual gold mine of natural beauty. Needless to say, the government, and now more travelers, are beginning to uncover its pristine beauty too.
With Costa Rica on its southern border, Nicaragua has managed to stay under the radar for travel destinations. Currently, though, as Costa Rica becomes more and more flooded with vacationers, more are searching for the calm and discreetness they used to experience there, and have unearthed Nicaragua right next door. The native people welcome foreigners with open arms, and the landscape and topography have not been wrecked by high-rise hotels and gaudy casino signs.
The government of Nicaragua has started to seize the advantage of the unspoiled state of their country, and are beginning to actively promote it to the world as an ecotourism bonanza. Outside undertakings such as hiking, biking, climbing, and camping have started in a major way at this time, and the infrastructure that's begun to accommodate those tourists is in spite of everything not large in scale or design, saving the "undiscovered country" subject.
