Navigating the Golf Courses of Texas
It would be complicated to imagine that a state with the size and topography of Texas didn't have some of the top golf courses in the world within its borders. All skill levels can find a relaxing or complicated course to play somewhere nearby. There are three courses, however, that require a little extra focus, as they try to accommodate more than just the scratch golfer.
Outside of Austin is Barton Creek Resort and Spa. Not only does it have 72 holes on three courses to challenge every level but,as the name implies, it is also a fabulous spa. The courses take advantage the lay of the land to incorporate the hills into play, and makes for some interesting golf shots. Top that off with fabulous dining accommodations and you're set up for a great day on the links.
The next two courses are both of Tom Fazio design, making them immediately challenging and playable. Fazio Foothills was designed to be playable by everyone. The course just recently underwent a major renovation, bringing it back up to the level of beauty and skill you'd expect to see on a Fazio course.
Fazio Canyons is the other great course worth mentioning here. It's both gorgeous to see and interesting to play. The course, like the two others mentioned, creates challenges for every level of golf, whether you're a duffer or a pro.
