Golf - Frisco, Texas
Golfers on holiday love nothing more than to have a assortment of courses available to them within arm's reach. Enjoying diverse courses in a different part of the country offers golfers both bragging rights and conversation when it comes to comparing courses with their pals and acquaintances. Frisco, Texas, just outside of Dallas, is home to such a assortment of courses, many quite notable. A stay in the area affords the avid duffer access to all of these. Some of the more notable courses are listed here.
The Westin Stonebriar is an 18-hole championship course made by one of the best golfers in the country. The backdrop is native grasses surrounded by rolling hills. The bunkers are very challenging, and water hazards tough. The course will challenge golfers at all ranges of play, but is not for the weak -of-heart.
Plantation Golf Club is more accommodating to all ranges of golfers, and is a favored landing spot for locals. It too has challenging play, but not quite the same degree of intensity as Stonebriar, making for a lot more relaxing and pleasant golfing experience. The rows of trees make a great location, surrounded by Bermuda grass, and although playable, the greens are as challenging as a golfer will come across on any course. It is a "must-play" for every golfer located in the area.
Lastly, the Trails of Frisco Golf Club provides brilliant play for those who can get on the course. The Frisco Golf Club is semi-private, so not all people can play there, but those that get the chance will discover a 7000 yard long, par 71 course. Paired with wetlands, the course is a challenge from green to green, but also offers a quiet escape from the city's hustle and commotion, even though it is situated in the Metroplex.
