Houston Area Entertainment
There are so many different things to do in Houston. Make sure you visit the Southwestern Music Festival. This event takes place every first weekend during March, and has some entertaining Western music. The Houston Barbecue Festival has an awesome selection of meats prepared by top quality restaurants.
There is a great selection of barbecue sauces to choose from and a contest where the sauces are scored for their hotness, spiciness, and sweetness. You can also visit the Southwestern Food Festival, where you can try out many different types of Southwestern food including Tex-Mex cuisine. This festival occurs the first week of August. The Houston Film Festival which takes place in September screens films with the Southwestern twist. Bayou Place is located in the theater district of Houston and is home to many different types of theaters, bars, and other entertainment attractions. It is also home to one of the most popular rock 'n roll discos in the United States.
Make sure you go to the aquarium located downtown, this aquarium has different themes and is home to more than 400 species of fish. There are so many fun things to do in Houston, even if you are looking for a relaxing quiet secluded destination. There's plenty of camping, fishing, hiking, and other outdoor activities that are fun for both you and the family.
