Day 1:
Granada Colonial Culture and Nature Experience
Upon arrival, your group will exit through customs and we’ll whisk you away to Granada. Granada is the most famous destination inside Nicaragua, with visitors coming from around the world to enjoy its timeless beauty and quiet charm. Granada is a great jumping off point for various activities. Granada is one of Latin America's most beautiful Spanish colonial cities in Central America. No visit to Granada is complete without a tour of the city’s beautiful historic center and what better way than in a traditional horse-drawn carriage. On this privately guided walking/carriage tour you will explore the San Francisco Church and neighboring San Francisco Convent built in 1529. The Convent is now a museum and home to an impressive collection of pre-Columbian art. We’ll visit the beautiful Merced Church where you will have the opportunity to climb to the top of the bell tower and take in spectacular views of the city, Lake Nicaragua, and Volcán Mombacho. We’ll also stop at La Polvora Fortress, learn the history of the old fortress and walk through its beautiful courtyard. We’ll finish your tour in the oldest part of the city where you will visit the Xalteva Church and the old city walls. Throughout the excursion your guide will provide you with an informative and unique perspective of this beloved colonial city. Overnight Hotel Plaza Colon (D)
Day 2:
Mombacho Volcano Cloud Forest Experience
Nearby Mombacho Volcano sits in a beautiful cloud forest and is home to a wide variety of vegetation and wildlife. We’ll drive to the top (1150 meters) of the volcano in a 4x4 vehicle and after a quick trip to the scientific station, explore this impressive volcano on a guided walk. The well-kept Crater Trail (1.5 km) leads you around the crater through dense cloud forest. We’ll pass by several fumaroles and enjoy spectacular views overlooking Granada, Las Isletas, Laguna de Apoyo and the Masaya Volcano. Be sure to keep an eye out for the howler and white face monkeys as well as the Mombacho salamanders. Plus you can enjoy views of the Mombacho Volcano and Cocibolca Valley from a bird´s eye view on Mombacho’s canopy tour. Zip through the treetops as you go from platform to platform ranging in height from 10 to 100 feet above the canopy floor. Overnight Hotel Plaza Colon Granada (B,D)
Day 3:
Las Isletas Lake Experience Near Granada
A morning motor boat or kayak trip through the Isletas of Granada is a wonderful way to explore Lake Cocibolca, the great lake of Nicaragua. We’ll depart from your hotel and head towards Cabaña Amarilla harbor where you will board a private motor boat or kayak and explore Las Isletas of Granada. Las Isletas sits at the foot of Mombacho Volcano and consists of 365 small volcanic islands which were formed when Mombacho erupted about 20,000 years ago. Afternoon transfer to your Private Villa. Ventana a las Olas in Rancho Santana Overnight (B,L,D)
DAY 3-7:
Ventana a Las Olas Villa Experience
We arrive to your private villa in the early evening, just in time to have dinner. We may visit a small local restaurant in a local nearby village for a home cooked meal, nicaraguan style. Spend the next four days enjoying the beach, relaxing, learning to surf. The villa sits among the trees on a ridge overlooking Rancho Santana’s 2,700 hundred acres of jungles, rolling hills, beaches and spectacular sunsets. Built by local craftsmen, every room features stone floors, high arches and ceilings, fans, AC, mahogany furniture, artwork by local artisans and endless views. Horseback riding is available for sunset beach walks. (D)

One Of The Last Undiscovered, Once In A Lifetime Experiences:
Just a short flight from Miami, Houston or LAX, Nicaragua is one of the last great, undiscovered travel destinations. Despite rave reviews from Forbes Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times and one of the lowest crime rates in Central and South America, Nicaragua’s somewhat checkered past has actually helped preserve its untouched and pristine charms. The revolution may be ancient history, but the beauty and peace of Nicaragua is still a secret to most folks. In many ways, Nicaragua is much like Costa Rica was when I first visited her 20 years ago. Nicaragua’s friendly and warm people offer a unique combination of old world colonial culture, vast and varied nature reserves and long stretches of pristine, untouched beaches.
