Trip Overview:
We took some of the best mountain biking opportunities offered by this land of diversity and combined them with the best White Water Rafting and our favorite beaches to create for the Pacific Trails and Rivers adventure.

This Adventure Includes:
• 4 nights of lodging with all taxes.
• Pick up and Drop off at hotels in San Jose and surroundings.
• 4 Breakfasts, 4 lunches & 4 dinners.
Support vehicle, mechanic, tools, water and hydrating drinks on biking days.
• Licensed Bilingual local mountain biking guide.
White water rafting equipments and guides.
• Cannondale or Kona Mountain bike with front suspension (Custom fitted to the customers size).
• Helmet, Gloves & water bottle.

This Adventure Does Not Include:
International Airfare and departure taxes.
Some meals may not be included.
Optional last day overnight for departure home.

Three Star Level (The Three Star level features 3 star accomodations and comfortable transportation on the itinerary. Daily private guides and great service. Some Eco lodges that are remote may require shared facilities where noted.)

This tour starts every Wednesday! Departures on other days of the week are possible depending on availability with a minimum of 2 passengers.

• 15% paved roads

It is not about screaming downhill or tough technical single-track trails. Enjoy guided recreational mountain biking on scenic secondary country roads exploring active volcanoes, coffee plantations, tropical rivers and lowland rainforests all the way to that perfect beach on the Pacific Coast.

Day 1:
San José – Santa Clara
Pick up at your hotel in San Jose to begin today’s adventure. Ride from the top of the continental divide, through cloud forests and cattle farms to the Santa Clara lowlands in northern Costa Rica. During the afternoon we’ll shuttle to our hotel located in an operating cattle farm. Overnight at Hotel La Garza o similar, standard room (B,L)

Day 2:
Toro White Water Rafting / Arenal
The emerald green waters of the Río Toro run for several miles between steep canyon walls with 100 foot waterfalls. Our full day rafting trip involves lots of whitewater action, exotic wildlife and great scenery. Later we shuttle to the town of La Fortuna, which lies just east of Arenal Volcano where we’ll visit the famous thermal springs. We’ll finish the day with a traditional dinner with homemade tortillas and a visit to a lookout point to see the red glow of the lava coming down from the crater of Arenal. (B,L)

Day 3:
Arenal Volcano & Sámara Beach - Pacific Coast
Today we’ll ride at the base Arenal Volcano National Park and along the deserted southern shore of Lake Arenal. We’ll use an abandoned lane through secondary forest, crossing several streams and enjoying superb views of the lake and the volcano. In the afternoon we’ll drive to the popular Sámara Beach on the Pacific coast.

Day 4:
Sámara/Carrillo Beach - Pacific Coast
Bike ride along the coast at this tropical paradise. Sámara beach is also the perfect place to take surfing lessons, or simply sunbathe at the beach. Sea Kayaking, Snorkeling and a Canopy tour are also available. Overnight at Hotel Samara Beach o similar, standard room. (B,L)

Day 5:
Return to San Jose or Extensions
Return to San Jose for flight home or continue travelling
After breakfast, return to San Jose. (B)
