DAY 1:
Arrive San Jose
Transfer to Hotel - Best Western Irazu

DAY 2:
Transfer and Raft to Pacuare Lodge
6:00 -7:00 am: Early morning pick-up in your hotel lobby. Transportation service (approximately 2½ hours) to our Pacuare River put-in including a typical Costa Rican breakfast in route. Exciting 1-1½ hour river rafting tour to the Pacuare Lodge (class II-III rapids) where you will enjoy a two night stay at Costa Rica’s premier eco-lodge. After lunch participate an optional canopy tour (not included in package price) or waterfall hike, or simply relax in your private bungalow or suite. Dine on gourmet delicacies by candlelight and then visit our upstairs lounge for a cocktail or refreshment before retiring to a restful night’s sleep. (B, L, D)
DAY 3:
Pacuare Lodge
You’ll wake up to bird song and the soothing sound of the river nearby. Then head over to the main lodge for a delicious breakfast of home-made bread, tropical fruits, yogurt, eggs, pancakes, cereal and juice and coffee.
The lodge employs a resident naturalist guide who will provide you with unique insights into the plant and animal world. Choose from exciting optional tours that include guided hikes through an emerald rainforest, the Cabecar Indian tour - where visitors may participate in a cultural exchange with a shaman and our Adventure Canopy Tour – where visitors glide amid a tropical rainforest canopy. DAY 4:
Raft Pacuare - Arenal Volcano
Departure between 9:00-10:00 am. In the morning you will depart by raft for an even more fun-filled day of white water rating excitement (approximately 3½ hours over class III-IV rapids), including a delicious picnic lunch along the river. At our river take-out you will have a chance to change at our private facilities before being transferred by private minibus to Arenal Observatory Lodge - Arrival 5:30-6:30 pm. DAY 5:
Arenal Volcano - Zip or Canyon Rapelling
Early morning departure to activity of your choice: Pure Trek Canyoning or Zip Lining.
The Observatory lodge is located just 1.8 kilometers from the active crater of Arenal Volcano, and is separated from it by a deep river valley. The location was specifically chosen in the 1970's by scientists from the Smithsonian Institute, who needed a close but safe vantage point from which to study the volcano. Arenal Observatory Lodge sits on 870 acres of land adjacent to the Arenal Volcano National Park. The site contains 270 acres of primary rain forest with well-marked trails, 400 acres of reforestation projects (parts with non-native pine & eucalyptus), and 200 acres of working farm lands.

DAY 6:
Monteverde Cloudforest
Early Morning boat transfer to Monteverde Cloudforest Arrive at Belmar Family Lodge
Afternoon Hike in the Monteverde Cloudforest - The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is a private non-profit reserve administered by the Tropical Science Center, and contains 6 distinct ecological zones. Called a cloud forest rather than a rain forest: because of it's altitude, the clouds go through the forest. The canopy is extremely rich with birds, insects, butterflies, and thousands of plants. Great bird watching, Resplendent Quetzal is usually seen in the March-April nesting season. Overnight Belmar Lodge (B,D)
DAY 7:
Hike or Zip lining Monteverde
Early am wake up. Enjoy hiking the Santa Elena Cloudforest and visit the Selvatura Bridges.
Extremo Monteverde - optional zip lining tour - for some unique zip lining such as the new Superman Zip Line and Jungle Swing. Afternoon private transfer to San Jose - Arrival at 7:30p
Overnight Irazu Hotel or similar. Dinner on your own. (B)
DAY 8:
Depart San Jose
Free morning -private Transfer to San Jose International Airport
for return flight home. Optional add-on tours
