Offbeat Houston Attractions
Many travelers to the metropolis of Houston are acquainted with the activities available to the entire family. Travelers often come to see Johnson Space Center, the Houston Zoo, and the Houston Aquarium. But aside from these famous points of interest are some lesser known spots that are more than worth the time to visit. If you've been to Houston but not been to any of the places on this list, you're missing a great treat, and you need to add them to your travel plans for your next visit.
For an entertainment megaplex, visit Bayou Place in the theater district. This complex, resting on over three acres of land, includes a variety of clubs and bars, theatres, restaurants, and gaming zones to suit your entire family. It has a Hard Rock Café, Italian Trattoria restaurant, and a movie house complex in addition to its other sights.
For an uncommon shopping experience, go over to Galleria Mall. It is one of the largest malls in the region, and caters to the "upscale" shopper. Anchor shops include Nordstrom's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Macy's, as well as a assortment of smaller, specialty retailers offering the best-known brands. Even if you just want to window shop, you must make it a point to stop by and see the enormity and style that defines this mall.
The Museum District deserves to be pointed out here also. Even though many people today are acquainted with the well-known Fine Arts and Natural History Museums, there are a lot of others in this same location that are equally impressive and really worth a visit. The close by McGovern Health Museum, for example, has Houston's only 4-D theatre. The Holocaust Museum, also situated in the district, should be toured by every visitor to the city as a reminder of one of the most significant tragedies in history.
